just back from a hearty dinner at Ah Mei Cafe.
Ah Mei Ice Tea never fails to perk me up.
Jian Hao's 2 Cents WorthLesson 7: Making Plansthe Bible says in Proverbs 16:9,
"A man's heart
plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps."
i think i'm a very forward-planning person.
i don't really like to live for the now, but for the future.
thats why the countdown to my ORD started the day i enlisted. haha.
i like to plan.
on somedays when i'm free i'll just sit at a cafe and take out a piece of paper and pen and start to jot down what i am going to do.
and if i have company i'll be discussing it with them.
writing them down and confessing it help me to remain committed to my plans.
and in my head i'll have my own general meetings, where i'm my own director, CEO, general manager, human resource head, finance head, secretary etc.
then i'll review, and perhaps make alternatives if my plans don't work out.
but of course all my plans are carefully prayed through and that's when God comes into the picture.
"A man's heart plans his way,
But the Lord
directs his steps."
we may make our own decisions, God will never touch our free-will.
but being human, we
may will make mistakes.
so we need God to direct our steps so we'll be making plans which are in His Will.
and when we pray about our plans, God will make sure they won't lead you astray because He will direct you. (of course thats when obedience comes into play but thats a different lesson altogether)
and we can pray about anything!
even when i shop, although i've already planned on what to buy.. i'll always pray that God will lead me.
then amazingly i'll go to the right shop and the right people and the right price.
and believe me, you'll find the most amazing deals when God is directing your step.
making plans is important.
it helps you shape your future.
the Bible says that without a vision, men perish.
and i begin to understand that if theres nothing for people to work towards (planning ahead) people will just remain idle, hence eventually they'll remain futile and unproductive, leading to their destruction.
i love to talk about my dreams and visions (i think you would have noticed)
i plan way way way ahead.
i even got my daughter's name ready (son maybe not yet.)
likewise i love to listen to people talk about their future.
it allows me to do my best to help that person achieve what he/she wants in life.
we must let people know about our plans so that they know where they can help us in.
we should make plans for our future, counting on God to direct us.
making plans is like planning the route in which we run.
and achieving our plans is like crossing the finishing line.
don't keep running around in life, plan a path and finish it well.
and after that, plan another route and keep running.
at least you know where you'll be going, and God will know where to lead you :)
For all he didn't say @
